Saying Goodbye to Sangamitra (July 2004)

Saying Goodbye to Sangamitra (July 2004)
Sangamitra decided to move back to India to follow her dreams and be closer to her family. We couldn't let her go without a proper farewell party, so we headed to Chi-Cha Lounge on Friday and had brunch together at L'Oriol Plaza on Sunday. It is hard to say goodbye to friends, but we are planning to visit her in India some time soon.

Rab (June 2004)

Rab (June 2004)
I went straight to the beach after coming home from the USA - a good way of getting over the jet lag, I must say :)). My cousin Mojca, her son Kristijan and I spent a couple of days on the island Rab in Croatia. Rab is one of the islands of the Kvarner Bay archipelago in the north of the Croatian Adriatic Sea. The sea was a bit too cold to swim in, but we had fun walking and driving around, and even went to two adjacent islands, Mali Losinj and Pag, by boat.

Fall and Spring Commencement (December 2003 and May 2004)

Fall and Spring Commencement (December 2003 and May 2004)
My friend Lisa and I at Fall 2003 Commencement - we both graduated with a Master of Arts in Economics. Being in a teaching profession can be very rewarding, as I discovered when Nandar, one of my students, invited me to her graduation. Thank you, Nandar!

EGSA Auction (April 2004)

EGSA Auction (April 2004)
Another year, another EGSA charity auction. Someone actually paid $70 for my home-made desserts! Every year I get a better price, so I guess I'm expecting no less than $100 next year :))). It's for a good cause, after all.

My Friends Visit (December 2003 and January 2004)

My Friends Visit (December 2003 and January 2004)
I am truly blessed with great friends: since I had to stay in the USA over the Christmas and New Year, two of my friends, Anita and Mateja, came over here from Slovenia to keep me company and see the USA! I wanted to show them everything I never had a chance to see up till now:), and they said they needed another vacation when going home, but we had fun. And the weather was just fabulous - not too much of a Christmas spirit (i.e., no snow), but great for sightseeing.

Fall Foliage in Vermont (October 2003)

Fall Foliage in Vermont (October 2003)
Sometimes even a graduate student needs a break - and going on a road trip with friends is a great break! Five of us drove to Vermont in the middle of October to see the leaves changing colors. We missed the peak by a couple of days, but had a great time nevertheless. Sud and I were the designated drivers for the trip and driving on the Interstate was definitely an experience for me, coming from a small country like Slovenia with at most three lanes on our highways - but a good one:).
