This year, my friends took me out for dinner to a great Thai place in D.c., and after that we went dancing to Cafe Citron. On my actual birthday, I baked a ton of desserts and took them to school, and then went for dinner to my friends' place.

My holidays at home were eventually over and I had to go back to the USA. My brother Bojan, cousin Mojca and her son Kristijan took me to the Zagreb airport.

Kranjska Gora is most famous for its winter sports but is the heart of the Upper Sava Valley in the summer, too. Bled and Bohinj lakes are two lakes in the Julian Alps region of Slovenia - they are sometimes called the jewels of the Julian Alps. The Bled Lake is more commercialized, known for its legendary island in the middle and an overlooking castle. The Bohinj region with its unspoiled high-mountain lake is much more to my liking, but both are worthy of visit.

I missed the parade on the Chinese New Year in London, but still experienced the crowds and saw quite impressive fireworks.

I was in Chicago for the AEA Annual Meetings, and combined business with pleasure by doing some sightseeing. It was nice to meet some of my friends and professors again.
